A display of kitchen appliances and tools used by the early settlers from the mid 1800’s through to the 1920’s and beyond.

DTHS was formed in 1967 after the proclamation of Shire of Doncaster and Templestowe as the City of Koonarra. It gained further impetus in 1971 from the need to preserve Schramm's Cottage when Doncaster Road was widened and the Council Offices erected.

The Rotary Club of Doncaster has been helping the DTHS especially with garden maintenance for decades
Since formation it has completed many major projects such as:
- Moving and rebuilding Schramm's Stone Cottage from Doncaster Road to its current location at Muriel Green Drive in 1971-1976
- Schramm's Cottage has been an accredited Museum with the Museums Accreditation Program from 2013
- DTHS has been a Registered Charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission since foundation.
- Publishing many booklets for local education and promotion of local history
- DTHS aims to foster historical interest and knowledge about the history of Doncaster & Templestowe from the early 1800's through the following actions:
- acquire, preserve and display objects
- conduct and publish historical research in relation to buildings, objects, lifestyles
- advise, urge and assist in preserving historic landscapes, plants, buildings, landmarks and objects
